Hello everyone,
I have been absolutely blown away by my new SM4UH ‘Heros’ Mouthpiece!
I have been testing the new SM4UH ‘Heros’ Mouthpiece for the last three weeks and in this time I have had the opportunity to test the mouthpiece in a number of different situations and environments which includes solo work, small group performances and full brass band performances.
The SM4UH ‘Heros’ Mouthpiece has a very centred and vibrant sound which is consistent throughout the whole range of the Euphonium.
I feel that the SM4UH ‘Heros’ Mouthpiece has more definition and clarity in regards to articulation which enables me to produce a cleaner sound!
The SM4UH ‘Heros’ Mouthpieces has given me a more stable and open lower register and I feel one of the best aspects of the new SM4UH ‘Heros’ Mouthpiece is the fact that it gives me a more resonant and malleable sound which provides me with a fuller range of colours!
I have been so impressed and filled with confidence with the new SM4UH ‘Heros’ Mouthpiece that I have used it to record ‘O Holy Night’ accompanied by The Brass Band of Central England in Coventry Cathedral for The BBC Coventry and Warwickshire Radio carol service which will be broadcast on Christmas Eve!
The SM4UH ‘Heros’ Mouthpiece is the most comfortable mouthpiece that I have ever played on! The rim of the mouthpiece feels really comfortable on my lip and I believe this has had a major impact on my stamina especially when I have finished doing a personal practice session, a rehearsal or even a concert feeling as though I still have many more miles left in the tank.
I feel the SM4UH ‘Heros’ Mouthpiece provides me with a sense of security and confidence in approaching the technical challenges which are required of the Euphonium in this day and age!
I have to admit that I am really excited to see the response that the new SM4UH 'Heros' Mouthpiece will be given when it is released on general sale in January 2025.
Best Wishes,
Micah Dominic Parsons
