Tuesday 23rd August 2016, the brass banding community awoke to find a new and deadly threat lurking within, the disease known as 'Bagpipe Lung'. Doctors quickly advised musicians that instruments should be regular cleaned to prevent the build-up of yeast and pathogens.

Unique and eye catching the packaging really makes this product stand out with its green background finish. Although I am not here to discuss the packaging I wanted to include a note, The packaging includes some useful instructions and information. The most interesting aspect of the packaging is that is it designed to be used as storage for when the Cleaning Equipment is not in use.  Its refreshing to see something that is pleasing to the eye and not the usual dull and boring cleaning products that we are used to seeing on the trade stands at contests.

This product has rapidly gained popularity amongst the professional players including being endorsed by the Foden's Band. It has been mentioned by individuals that to get a cleaning kit often involves buying numerous items from different shops. The different with B# Brass cleaning kit is that you buy everything in one box, which is handy for starters.

Now for the bit you have all been waiting for. B# Brass has included a number of products to enable the user to give the instrument a through clean and finish. Each individual piece of equipment has been designed with an important aspect in mind. 

The first part of the kit contains a high quality Helin Brush useful for cleaning out slides and valve blocks. Also included is a double ended snake brush which come in handy for getting at dirt often found in the bends of tubes. You will notice it has a slightly different design with softer cloth type ends which presents the brush from detaching itself whilst cleaning.

To finish this pack includes a cloth which is designed to give the instrument a quality finish in conjunction with the finishing polish. B# Brass has really chosen these items with care, only choosing to include high quality, long lasting items. This part of the kit is designed to withstand a number of uses. I know how frustrating it is to have used brushes which barely last one cleaning session. 

Years of research has lead to this unique development in the form of an instrument soak. Designed with brass instruments in mind it is designed to break down Biofilm within the instrument, degrease valves and slides enabling you to apply fresh cream when putting the instrument back together. The major factor in this instrument soak is that the formula is pH neutral allowing it to be applied to both Lacquer and Silver Plated instruments. What I like about both the instrument soak and finishing polish (to be introduced later) is the use of natural ingredients, this detailed thought process when creating the product has created an environmentally friendly product which not only benifits the player but also the instrument.

The final item contained within the B# Cleaning Kit is the Finishing Polish designed to give the instrument an extra layer of protection, the Finishing Polish has been designed to fit into an instruments case which enables the user to potentially give the instrument a quick polish before a concert. The Finishing Polish continues the theme of using natural ingredients by being made from natural avocado oil this product finishes the line up of superb quality products that B# Brass has produced.
