Hello everyone,
I wanted to share with you my initial thoughts with you all in regards to my new custom Adams E2 Euphonium.I have been playing on my new custom Adams E2 Euphonium for around two weeks.
My first impressions of this instrument is how well made the instrument is. It feels like a solid, sturdy and well made instrument with the weight feeling similar and comparable to my Besson Prestige 2052-2 Euphonium.
The instrument is comfortable to hold especially with the closeness of the third valve slide to the forth valve which makes the positioning of the left hand really comfortable.
The valve tops have taken a bit of getting used to but the valve action is positive and smooth and I have only had to carry out a little maintenance on each of the valves to remove the black material left behind following the manufacturing process. The valves are very well made and I feel that time and care has been taken when creating the valve block and each of the valves.
I feel that my custom Adams E2 Euphonium has more breadth of sound and is more secure in the lower and middle register than my Besson Prestige 2052-2 Euphonium. I believe that I have to work a little harder to project my sound on my custom Adams E2 Euphonium however, I feel that the sound I get is more alive and vibrant than my Besson Prestige 2052-2 Euphonium.
The tuning of my custom Adams E2 Euphonium is absolutely incredible. I never realised how much adjusting I have done in the past to play the various Euphonium brands that I have used in tune. I am using the trigger to adjust my tuning to the other brands of instruments within the brass band.
I feel that my custom Adams E2 Euphonium is really responsive when producing a note although I am still figuring out where I can take the quieter dynamic range of my custom Adams E2 Euphonium too at the moment.
The only features that I am still adapting too on my custom Adams E2 Euphonium is not having a forth valve protective cover and not having a quick release system on my trigger system but these things are really minor points.
I hope to share some more information in regards to my new custom Adams E2 Euphonium in the near future!
Best Wishes,
Micah Dominic Parsons
